Funding and Pricing

During the working day, we facilitate funded and non-funded sessions for nursery aged children. We accept children from two years and above, including those with Think2 funding, Working Parent Entitlement, rising 3s and 30 hours of childcare. Please see below for details on these.

Think 2 – If you are in receipt of certain benefits you may be eligible to claim 15 hours of funded childcare for your child. The starting date for this is the term beginning after your child’s 2nd birthday. For example, if your child is 2 in the Autumn term (from September to December) their funding will begin in the Spring Term (January).

Working Parent Entitlement - From April 2024, a new early education funded entitlement is available for working parents with a 2 year old.

Working parents (or lone parent) could be eligible if:

  • They have a child aged 2 years - children are eligible from the term after turning 2 years old.
  • Each parent expects to earn (on average) at least £167 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage).
  • If you, or your partner, are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you're unable to work because you are disabled or have caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible.

Rising 3s – The term after your child turns 3; they are automatically eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare. For example, if your child turns 3 anywhere between September and December, they can start taking their funded sessions starting in January.

30 hours funded – If you are working 16 hours of more at the minimum wage (or equivalent) you are most probably eligible for 30 hours funded childcare for your 3 year old. Similarly to Rising 3s, this can start the term after your child turns 3. For this to happen, you will need to apply and get an eligibility code before the end of the term you are in for the funded place to start in the next term. Check your availability and register at: childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk/par/app/applynow. If you need any help or advice on this, please do not hesitate to contact one of our team who will be more than willing to support you through this process.

Paid 2s, 3s and 4s – We also offer care throughout the day for children who do not receive funding. Please see the attached price list for session times and charging.

Explorers bookings are to be made by completing a registration form, which are available from school, and returning it to either the Explorers staff or the school office. This can also be done digitally using the registration form attached below which can be emailed back to explorers@redbrookhayes.co.uk. You will be contacted to confirm your child’s place and sessions allocated. We then ask to see your child’s original birth certificate so we can keep it on file. Terms and Conditions of Explorers can be found below which need to be read and signed by parents of the child before the places are taken.
